The Power of The 30 Day Challenge
Many of you already know that I am a BIG fan of what I call a 30 Day Challenge. Basically it is trying something for 30 days before making a final decision whether I should continue, modify, or move on to something else.
Probably the best 30 Day Challenge I have ever done was back in 2006 when I told myself I would brew and drink my own homemade kombucha tea for 30 days… that led to getting off all my acid reflux prescription meds, the beginning of the top ranked kombucha home brewing website (according to google… and all of you guys!!), and the empowerment to help others through my discoveries.. such as Jiaogulan and Wheatgrass.
However, I have done several other 30 Day Challenges.. here are a few and their outcomes:
- This was a 90 day challenge! and the best thing that came out of this was I can pretty much beat anyone in a pull up competition!
- Unfortunately the worst thing that came out of this was almost destroying my shoulders. Please be careful on this program.
- Tony Robbins Personal Power
- Freakin’ Love It!
- For me it is not so much the content, but the signals you are sending letting your subconscious (or whatever name you want to call it), that it is important to take care of yourself.
- Going Veggie
- Great experience for the short term, it forced me to focus on so many different creative dishes.
- I learned that for myself I do prefer eating some meat… though it has been much less (and I am much more aware of the amounts) since this challenge.
- I have taken Igor Ledochowski’s Conversational Hypnosis Course and it rocks.
- Since then Igor has become both a friend and a mentor.
- I used the techniques I learned to help a friend Stop Smoking… it has now been over 1 year without a single cigarette. (shout out to Dee!).
- My new favorite obsession!
- I now play in a league and look forward to the game (as well as the karaoke bar where we all go after wards).
The above are just a sampling and in case you can’t tell… I love them!

What I Never Realized Until Now
I realized something. If you remember, my 30 Day Kombucha Challenge led to writing the 7 Day Kombucha Mini Course and thousands of new home brewers. All I really did was just document my findings and share them with the world.
I think the main success has been that despite million dollar scientific lab findings (sometimes funded by questionable vested interest groups) sometimes people resonate more with a real person and their real personal experience.

Living Case Studies Edition.
That’s right. We are taking it to the streets and documenting every step of the way for you! Now I am sure many of you are saying “Egosc-WHO” so before we get into it here is a brief description of the Egoscue Method straight from the site:

How I Discovered Them. A few months ago I received an email from a customer who just purchased a Kombucha Continuous Home Brewing System along with the Kombucha DVDs.
As much as he loved the videos he couldn’t help but notice that while my kombucha teaching was outstanding (his word, not mine), my posture was, well, pretty horrible. Although he was a physical therapist, instead of recommending physical therapy he simply suggested that I pick up a book called Pain Free by Peter Egoscue.
I was so impressed that a customer took the time to not only watch and send feedback on our videos, but to care about me enough to offer this suggestion, that the next day I went to Amazon and spent a whopping 17 bucks or something just to try it out…
Amazing. A few days later the book came and both the exercises AND the philosophy resonated so much with me that I immediately began doing the “E-cises”. I felt so good every time I did them, that I wanted to do more the next day. Well fast forward 30 days (the 30 day challenge was to just follow the basic E-sises for my pain in the book.. took about 10 minutes a day) and I began researching a little more about Egoscue and what else they had to offer.
Basically I was feeling great but I sort of hit a plateau. The other thing was that Egoscue (along with many testimonies) claims that they have saved people from surgery! For me my miracle would be just as challenging… CURE MY SCOLIOSIS!
Discovery. This lead me to find the Los Angeles Egoscue Clinic. It was there that I discovered that these guys can take it to the next level by offering custom tailored “E menu’s” personally designed based off of the assessment.
Experience It For Yourself. Paul, the owner of the Egoscue Los Angeles Clinic, was kind enough to allow us to bring our cameras in to the initial meeting where we took my postural pictures, went over my specific imbalances, prescribed my personal E-sice menu and then worked with me on how to properly perform each one so that I can get the most out of each session.
What this means is that you have a front row ticket to see what goes on inside an actual clinic.

Stay Tuned. It has only been 3 weeks since the visit and I am experiencing such benefits it is awesome. I realize I have a long way to go to change scoliosis (in fact up until now I was told and believed that I could not fix it!)… but the fact that I FEEL better and better each and every time I follow the program, is enough to keep me going!

PS: Several people have been asking me are there any resources online regarding how to fix your back pain through body structure. Though for many people it probably won’t match a personal 1 on 1 session at a walk in Egoscue clinic, it is definitely an alternative that seems to be aligned* with the philosophy.
